Essential Questions: What are the different types of magnets?  Can you name different characteristics of magnets?  What are the properties of magnets?

Vocabulary: bar, ring, horseshoe, disc, u-shaped (types of magnets, north pole, sound pole, magnetic field, attract, and repel

Check out Bill Nye explaining magnetism to get a head start on your learning:

Second Step

Next week we will focus on Unit 3 and begin introducing emotion management.  Strong feelings of anger can lead to aggressive behavior, and students may also struggle to make good choices when they experience intense feelings.  Recognizing and labeling feelings in oneself and others facilitates problem solving, self- management, and social emotional competence.  Focusing on bodily signs of strong emotions help students recognize distressing emotions that might require managing.
