Chapter 12: Fractions
Vocabulary: equal, unequal, whole, fraction, one-half, one-third, one-fourth, unit fraction, same, greater than, less than, like fractions
Objectives:
- Identify whether a shape is divided into equal fractional parts
- Read, write, and identify unit fractions for halves, thirds, and fourths
- Show fraction and a whole using model drawings
- Compare two or more unit fractions using models of the same size
- Order two or more unit fractions with or without the use of models of the same size
- Identify fractions that name more than one equal part of a whole

Cursive
Week 8 Uppercase Letters are: R, L, A, O
As soon as your child learns the uppercase letter that starts their name, they can begin writing their name in cursive in class!! When you leave a comment on this post, you can tell us something you noticed, something you are proud of or something you are still struggling with. Don’t forget to leave a comment so we know that you completed your homework. I loved the comments that have detail (specifics) AND followed the rules of writing!

Second Step
This week, we practiced the first part of STEP problem solving process wish is Say the problem without blame. In order to do this we need to calm down and then state what we want or need. Can your child take the following scenario and practice saying the problem without blame?
Scenario
Student A wants to play with other friends but Student B only wants student A to play with them. They are using words like you always play with them and you never play with me.
How could you follow the first part of STEP?

Celebrating Our Greatness!
- Learning all the lowercase cursive letters and beginning the journey into uppercase letters
- 6 Seussville Citizens automatically leveled up on the Super Improver wall for watching and completing all 7 weeks of cursive thus far

The l is like a rollercoaster and the a is like the lowercase a.
I like the L because it was a crazy letter. My favorite letter was R because it’s like the upperse.
I am so excited for cursive this week because I learned an upper case letter from my name.
My favert leter is O.
My favorite letter is L because it was loopy.
Mine to Evan.
Mine also was R because most of our friends start with that letter.
I am so excited to write my name in cursive now.
Those are tricky letters especial the L. I liked the R and the A the best.

The words where easy but the words where just a bit harder but I it.

I am happy we learned the letter a because I can start writing my name in cursive at school.
